Mr. Mirosław Gulba designed and patented a solution that is not only efficient but also profitable and eco-friendly. He created a unique installation for tyres and rubber waste thermolysis. The device is called IDRO-05©.

IDRO-05© was designed and developed in Poland. The company that stands behind it has the European patents for installation and the recycling method all along with support of many research institutions.

The project dates back to 2007


From the beginning It has been developed with the EU funds, two fully operational prototypes have been created.

That made it possible for us to start testing our devices in a real process environment.

The prototypes have been upgraded ever since and our work concluded with designing of the newest version of IDRO-05©.

Our patented device utilizes low-temperature thermolysis technology. The technology is based on the thermal decomposition of car tyres and rubber waste which is carried out in a non-oxygen atmosphere. The process takes place in replaceable reactors in constant temperature growth. It ensures high efficiency and high quality of post-process material without any impact on the environment.

The whole process takes place in hermetically closed reactors. No gas emission nor pollution is created in the process.

The energy consumption is very low and the whole post-process products are used in the industrial market, which means no waste! The whole installation was researched for emission and gained a positive opinion from WIOŚ (Regional Inspectorate of Environment Protection). No emissions, No smog etc.

Our installation has process capabilities of nine tonnes of tyres per day.

Thanks to our innovative technology, our installation generates valuable, high-quality post-process products, always needed and easy to sell in the market.

Solid carbon residue. Calorific value ~29500 kJ/kg. Used as an add-on to low calorific value components with a possible way of manufacturing alternative fuel, for example, briquette or after processing a carbon black substitute used for secondary tyre, paint and lacquer dye production. After cleaning and granulation it could be a filter substitute.

Thermolytic oil. Calorific value ~42000 kJ/kg. Derivative of heating oil, perfect for combustion in adequate furnaces or as a power generator fuel, intermediate for technical oil and lubricant, fuel production.

Steel scrap from tyre, hose and gasket reinforcements.

Post-process gas. Calorific value ~ 48100 kJ/kg. Technologically used for sustaining the process, possibly some amount of that gas can be excessive.

IDRO-05© ECO SOLUTION

IDRO-05© is not only efficient but also profitable and eco-friendly.

Only the initiation of the process requires the use of gas (LPG). After the process is started in the first reactor, it’s products are used to fuel the process in the next reactor and thus it continues.

The amount of energy produced by the device allows for a self-sustaining source of power for furnaces and the electrical power generator, used to control the process.

One of the most unique and innovative features is the exchangeable reactors, which can be moved without stopping the process. Due to worker’s protection and pollution emission prevention, reactors can’t be open until all of the thermolyzed content is cooled down.

Our device’s construction allows it to work in a non-stop 24 hours cycle, also performing guarantee checkups, necessary repairs and modernization/development works without the need of stopping the process.

Each of IDRO-03©’s stations are placed in a mobile container. Installation can be transported anywhere. It's assembly takes about ten hours.

The installation has been projected in a way that allows it to process


Whole truck tyres up to 1100,00mm radius. Whole or cut car tyres. Rubber waste/chips from tyres.

Aside from tyres, installation can also process

Rubber seals and hoses. Other non-vulcanized rubber waste. Reinforced rubber waste.

Necessary area for three modules built-up in containers sums up to 130m2 and also 100m2of manoeuvring area, it means only 230m2 in total.

For a mobile installation, it would be 625m2 including a manoeuvring area.

Both our prototype machines and its work characteristics have been submitted to the Polish Patent Office and received the European patent.
